Three Options to Consider for Dentures: 

Partial Dentures: A partial denture is removable and only replaces some of your teeth. It uses a pink, gum-colored base with one or more false teeth attached. 

Full Dentures: A full denture can be fixed or temporary and is designed to replace a whole arch of teeth. We might recommend this option if you’ve lost many or all of your teeth. 

Implant-Supported Dentures: Implant-supported dentures are the most secure, natural-feeling denture option. These modern dentures are attached using four or more dental implants that are strategically placed to support a whole arch of prosthetic teeth. 

Dental implants are the most popular and effective method for replacing lost teeth. Implants utilize titanium screws implanted into the jaw, which mimic the function of tooth roots and stimulate bone growth. Implants can be used to replace one or multiple teeth, and they are designed to last a lifetime. Once installed, your dental implant will feel and look just like a real tooth. 

What To Expect When Getting Dental Implants: 

Initial Consultation: We’ll discuss your goals, examine your mouth, take x-rays, and identify if an implant is best for your goals. This includes evaluating the health of your gums and the underlying jaw bone. 

Implant Placement: In most cases, we’ll require two surgical visits. During the first visit, we’ll place the implant into the jaw. 

Abutment and Crown Placement: After a couple of months, your implant should have fused with your jaw bone. Once this healing process is complete, you’ll have a second appointment where we’ll attach an abutment and later a crown. In some cases, we can place the implant and fabricated tooth on the same day. 

Dental bridges are a restorative option used to replace missing teeth. This prosthetic is fixed into place and will look like a normal tooth, allowing you to close gaps in your smile and to eat and speak normally. Acting as a bridge between two natural teeth, this option can be used to replace gaps caused by one or more adjacent missing teeth. 

What To Expect When Getting a Dental Bridge:

Talk With Your Dentist: If you are missing teeth, there are several options available to you. Your dentist will discuss your goals and expectations for treatment and help you decide if a dental bridge is the best restorative option for your needs.

Take Impressions: We’ll take impressions of the area where the dental bridge will be placed so we can create a prosthetic piece that perfectly fills the gap. 

Bond to Adjacent Teeth: The final step is to alter the teeth adjacent to the gap and then attach and bond the bridge onto both teeth. We will cement this prosthetic in place to prevent your natural teeth from being able to move or rotate, which preserves your bite. 

While our first goal at Health Centered Dentistry is always to try and preserve a patient’s natural dentition, sometimes trauma or infections requires us to perform a root canal to save a tooth. The goal of root canal therapy is to clean the canals of a tooth by removing the tooth nerve and sanitizing it to kill bacteria and stop an infection. 

How We Perform Root Canal Therapy: 

Nerve Removal: To access the canal of your tooth, we must first drill a hole into your tooth and remove the nerve. 

Sanitization: We’ll clean the inside of the canal using antibacterial liquid or gas, such as ozone or chlorhexidine. 

Seal: We seal the canal to prevent an infection from reoccurring in the future. 

Crown or Filling Placement: A crown or filling is placed on the tooth to fortify it and further protect it from future decay or infection. 

Dental crowns are used to protect and preserve teeth that are weak, damaged, or badly decayed. By covering a compromised tooth with a crown, we can restore the function and appearance of the tooth. We provide same-day porcelain crowns using our CEREC machine. 

What To Know About Getting a Dental Crown 

There Are Different Options: We provide gold, porcelain, and ceramic crown options. Porcelain and ceramic crowns are the most natural looking and are generally strong and stain resistant. Gold crowns are incredibly sturdy and resilient to damage. They are ideal for back teeth that have to withstand a lot of force.

We Offer Same-Day Crowns: Our CEREC machine allows us to mold beautiful, custom crowns in house without having to wait on the lab to mill them. Using digital impressions, you can leave your appointment with a dental crown that same day. 

A Way to Prevent Tooth Loss: Crowns are a great treatment option if you have teeth that are at risk of becoming severely decayed or falling out. A crown makes your teeth like new and maintains your natural tooth root, preserving the bone and structure of your mouth.
