Meet Our New Doctor:
Dr. Michael Madsen!
After obtaining a BS in Food Science/ Nutrition at Brigham Young University, Dr Michael Madsen attended the prestigious University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA. While at UOP, he was accepted into the complex care clinic and experienced many difficult cases including implants, implant retained dentures, and same day crowns.
Dr Madsen practiced in Austin, TX, for many years before recently relocating to Alaska. He is excited to get to know his new patients and bring his skills to the people here. He enjoys all realms of general dentistry and has extensive experience in same day crowns, inlays and onlays. He prides himself in attention to detail, overall health, listening to his patient’s needs and wants, and looks forward to helping you achieve your best smile. Dr Madsen is a current member of the American Dental Association and a previous member of the Texas Dental Association and Capital Area Dental Society.
Dr Madsen loves to give back to the community and has volunteered for many organizations. Some of these include Give Kids a Smile, donating his time as a dentist at Camp Mabry in Austin, TX, and Engage Now Africa in Ethiopia where he lived for a year. While in Ethiopia he assisted in numerous cleft lip and dental abnormality surgeries. He discovered there that he wanted to work in the dental field.
When not at work Dr Madsen can be found enjoying all Alaska has to offer. He loves to be outside hiking, swimming, biking, or running most days of the week. He and his wife, Liz, have 3 boys and look forward to making Alaska their new home.
After receiving his undergraduate BA and BS degrees in Spanish and Zoology, with a minor in chemistry, Dr. Clint Henrie went on to received his DMD from the University of Louisville. He has been practicing dentistry in Alaska for more than ten years, and prides himself in the attention to detail that he would demand for his own dental care. He provides general and cosmetic dentistry, same-day crowns, implant services for tooth replacement and implant supported dentures, and oral surgery. He enjoys treating children and adults alike.
One of his passions is helping patients overcome their reservations about dentistry. His goal is to ensure every patient is comfortable and enjoys their visits with us. He received his IV sedation certification from the University of Southern California, and provides IV and oral sedation for patients that need that extra level of comfort during their treatment.
Dr. Henrie assures that his patients that come to Health Centered Dentistry experience the freedom to discuss and have a choice in the treatment they feel is best for their own personal health. Listening to patient concerns is very important to Dr. Henrie. He appreciates the loving, supportive staff at HCD.
As with all of our doctors at HCD, Dr. Henrie has studied and provides safe mercury amalgam removal protocols and is a member of the international Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT). He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Alaska Dental Society, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He continues to expand his knowledge in all areas of dentistry by attending extensive continuing education courses including implant courses and soft tissue grafting with Russo Seminars.
He has an amazing wife, Heidi, who is a dental hygienist, and three adorable children. He loves the outdoors, and enjoys biking, hiking and skiing in the greater Anchorage area and throughout Alaska. He is an avid photographer, and likes hiking in Alaska’s back-country while photographing the incredible wildlife.
Dr. Kent Marchant started in the dental field as a dental assistant over 11 years ago and truly enjoys all aspects of dentistry. He received his DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. At Tufts, Dr. Marchant received awards in fixed prosthodontics. His true passion is same-day dentistry and has extensive training with providing same-day CEREC crowns. Dr. Marchant has trained and continues to gain knowledge in the field of same-day dentistry by utilizing Cerec Technology, which allows for the placement of Inlays, Onlays, Crown, Bridges, Veneer and even Implant Crown. He enjoys creating beautiful smiles for his patients, and loves the positive reactions he sees when patients see their new smiles for the first time.
Dr. Marchant has trained in implant dentistry with the White Cap Institute, and loves to provide patients with an option to replace missing teeth with dental implants for a single tooth or even implant supported dentures. He has also trained in advanced bone grafting and soft tissue grafting with the Russo Seminars.
Dr. Marchant has great compassion and respect for patients who have had unpleasant dental experiences in the past. He finds it a great honor to be part of helping them overcome their dental fears. This can often be accomplished with the help of Oral Conscience sedation, because of training Dr. Marchant has received through DOCS education.
As with all of our doctors at HCD, Dr. Marchant has studied and provides safe mercury amalgam removal protocols taught by the IAOMT.
He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Alaska Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentists. He organized and continues to host the Alaska Cerec Study club where he lectures and demonstrates the Cerec technology to other dentist in Alaska. He loves to learn about dentistry, and is always searching for ways to better serve his patients.
Dr. Marchant enjoys working with people of all ages. He has two boys and one girl, and many nieces and nephews, so naturally he loves working with children. He and his wife, Melanie, enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, and snowboarding with their family, and experiencing Alaska’s beautiful outdoor opportunities. He and his family love to call Alaska their Home!
Dr. Greg Bragiel received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Ohio State University School of Dentistry in Columbus, Ohio. He is a progressive, biological dentist and has completed over 600 hours of continuing education in the last ten years. Dr. Bragiel also follows the protocol for safe removal of mercury fillings set forth by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. Dr. Bragiel delivers cosmetic and comprehensive care, including tooth-colored fillings, crowns, bridges, and dentures. Dr. Bragiel has advanced training for treatment of jaw joint pain (TMJ Disorders) related to bite problems. His goal is to help you and your family make informed decisions about your oral health, and support you as you accomplish your goals.
Dr. Bragiel’s interests include hiking, motorcycling, photography, and back-country skiing. He is married to Mary Beth, and they enjoy backpacking together in Alaska’s great outdoors. He also volunteers with several organizations including Alaska Mountain Rescue Group, Mountaineering Club of Alaska, American Heritage Girls, Trail Life USA Scouting, Special Olympics and World Wide Marriage Encounter. You can also find him down at the Brother Francis Shelter every Friday night serving the homeless community dinner.
Dr. Bragiel says he “loves making people smile” and one visit with him will make you a believer. He appreciates the teamwork and positive attitude at Health Centered Dentistry in Anchorage, Alaska, and the fact that the entire team is concerned about helping clients be informed about their oral health decisions.
Dr. Mishler is a family dentist who takes great pride in working for the great people of Anchorage, Alaska. He brings great skill and artistry to making even routine fillings and crowns match your natural teeth perfectly. He takes the time to ensure every patients’ smile looks as stunning as possible.
A graduate of the prestigious University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, Dr. Mishler received multiple awards for his accomplishments in Smile Design with anterior veneers, complex treatment planning with implants, and periodontal surgeries. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Alaska Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), and International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT). Having passed the written portion of credentialing for AACD, he is now working to complete his last few cases.
Dr. Mishler is a 2010 Invisalign Preferred Provider, having met a high level of Invisalign’s educational and clinical competencies. He has also participated in extensive training in both implants and bone grafting, so that he can offer predictable, long-term solutions for patients with missing teeth.
Kathleen has been involved in dentistry for almost 21 years. She received her AAS in Dental Assisting from University of Alaska Anchorage in 1994, and her BS in Dental Hygiene from Eastern Washington University in 2001. Her favorite part of her job is getting to know her patients, and showing them that through gentle, regular care, dentistry does not have to be scary. She loves educating her patients on the importance of a healthy mouth, and helping them get and stay on the “healthy mouth wagon.” She and her husband Doug love all the fun and adventure this beautiful state has to offer, and they love sharing it with their two daughters, Makena and Maddie. The family enjoys spending lots of time outdoors skiing, snow machining, skating, and ice fishing at their Big Lake cabin. In the summer they enjoy biking, golfing, and playing at the lake.
Tiana has been a valued member of our team for almost 5 years, and has been in dentistry for 21 years. She is a graduate University of Alaska Anchorage’s Dental program, and studied in their Dental Hygiene program as well. Her favorite part of her job is making people proud of their smiles, and providing comprehensive and pain-free dental experiences, and she is passionate about natural and holistic health remedies. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and discovering all that this great state has to offer. Born and raised in Hawaii, she has been an Alaska resident for 29 years. She is the proud mother of a 6 year old daughter, Kimiko, and volunteers for Big Brothers Big Sisters and AK Mom Children’s Ministry. Tiana is a member of Baxter Roast Bible Church, ADHA, and Alaska Anchorage PTA.
Jillian has over 10 years of experience in the dental field, and exhibits a dedication to her patients that is second to none. She earned her BS in Biology from San Francisco State University, before realizing that dentistry was her calling, and earning a degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Her commitment to patient comfort and satisfaction is her top priority, and her professional goal is to educate patients in proper dental hygiene practices while providing a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Jillian was born and raised in the Philippines, and moved to San Francisco at the age of 14. When Jillian is not improving patient dental needs, she enjoys spending time with her husband and wonderful son. She also enjoys watching movies, playing the piano, and getting involved with her local church.
Diane has worked in the dental field for 20 years, and has been a valued member of our team for 16. She received her degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Educating and helping patients achieve their dental health goals is her favorite part of her job. Diane is the proud mother to 41 foster daughters, and has made it her mission to help teenage girls change their lives for the better. In her spare time, she loves to travel and spend time at her cabin in Denali.
Adrian received her Associates of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Alaska Anchorage and has been in the dental field for 13 years. A newer member of our dental family, she has proven to be a valued team member this past year. Her favorite part of the job is helping patients achieve their oral health goals. She is currently working on completing her Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene and eventually hopes to get a Master’s degree in Public Health. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, yoga, snowboarding, and hiking the great Alaskan wilderness.
Lori has been working at HCD for 17 years and has a total of 32 years in the dental field. She loves working with her patients and her team, both are amazing and she loves them! She graduated from University of Anchorage Alaska in 1985. Her hobbies include spending time at her cabin with family and friends, ocean boating in Prince William Sound, fishing, hunting, playing hockey, skiing, and snow machining. She loves Alaska. She is a part time instructor at UAA in the dental hygiene program. She is also ranked #9 in the state of Alaska for restorative endorsement.
